“Sarauj, Latgale!” is the name and motto of the new regional social-conservative party in Latgale. Our conservatism stems from the belief that we must preserve the centuries old traditions of cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity in our region.We are convinced that the true strength of our land and our greatest motivation to move forward lies in our ability to respect and support each other, draw the best from our diversity, and unite.

We believe that for our country to remain strong and secure; to prosper and endure through the ages, it is essential to focus on regional development. For over 30 years, all roads in Latvia have led to distant Riga, but we can turn this movement into a two-way street and “bring” the capital closer to the eastern border. Daugavpils is already capable of presenting its concerns effectively to the capital, identifying its challenges, and collaborating to find solutions. We call on other cities in Latgale to join us! We are ready to advocate for our region’s priorities, negotiate, and ensure that Latgale’s interests become those of all Latvia.

We will fight for income equality among the residents of our country, as Latvia cannot develop at different speeds. We aim to halt the population outflow from rural Latvia, establish scientific and educational centres in Latgale to attract youth, and create favourable conditions for local businesses. Only in this way can we contribute to the harmonious development of the state, whose population will grow instead of declining!
